It's getting colder here in Wichita (dropping into the low 30s), but we still went to the Old Town party area of town last night with some success. The Lord allowed us to distribute around 40-50 gospel tracts, speak briefly with a couple of people, and do some open air preaching.
The regular attendees of the bars in Old Town know who we are and many of them refuse the gospel tracts. They can refuse the tracts and conversation, but they can't escape God's message of salvation when we open air preach.
We have found that it is nearly impossible to draw a crowd in Old Town. On Reformation Day (halloween), we tried to give away money to people if they would stop and tell us if they were good witches, zombies, etc. No takers. I suppose they might take the money if we were handing out larger bills, but $5 bills could not buy their attention even for a few seconds.
As the weather gets colder, we have tentative plans to do some evangelism at malls and shopping centers. Those are the places people will be during the Christmas shopping season. This requires that we change our evangelism methods a little to fly under the radar and not be disruptive to store owners and security. It will be challenging and your prayers are appreciated.
Thank you for reading and for your prayers! God bless you!
Keep up the good work God began through you Kevin, not growing weary while doing good, for you shall reap in due season if you do not loose heart. We're so blessed by your faithfulness to your call of God Kev.
