If you share your faith in Christ regularly, I'm sure you have had spiritual battles. These problems are not demonic possession. That's different. The demonic distractions I'm referring to are simply things that prevent the gospel from being communicated to those who need to hear.
Last night had it's share of DDs. The Lord provided several awesome opportunities to share the gospel yesterday evening. He let me speak with two couples of high school prom goers and then half a bus load of Catholic high school students who were extremely interested. Their chaperone was surprised the students didn't really know the gospel. Later on, God let me open air preach several times to many partiers as they walked from one bar to another. The talk with the prom couples went pretty smooth, but the others were interrupted by yelling, loud vehicles, and friends being dragged away from our conversation by other "friends".
When these interruptions happen, generally, I've already had the chance to share the bad news that the people have broken God's law (the Ten Commandments) and they will have to stand before Him for judgment. Then comes the DD. It seems the enemy does not want them to receive the good news of Christ taking our punishment. Big surprise, right? When this happens, I simply try to give them as much of the good news as possible. Sometimes it's just a quick point of the finger upward and an admonition to "trust Christ".
Although these DDs can be frustrating, it's our duty as Christians to persevere and remember that those who have not yet repented and obeyed the gospel are NOT our enemy. Our battle is not against flesh and blood...
Thank you for reading! God bless you as you go and share your faith in Christ!
